Celebration of World Voice Day on 16th April 2019

Anwesha Kolkata received a certificate of appreciation from WHO for conducting the awareness programmes on World Hearing Day 2019.

A rally was taken out on 2nd March 2019 from Deshapriya Park to Gariahat Crossing to raise awareness on hearing health.

A debate was conducted involving students of leading colleges in Kolkata at the Centenary Building Hall, Asutosh College on 1st March 2019. The topic for the debate was “Check your hearing!” 30 students from five colleges actively took part in the debate. The entire programme was supported by Asutosh College.

Eminent ENT specialists Dr. Anirban Biswas, Dr.Aniruddha Majumder, Dr. Sudipta Chandra and Dr. M.N.Bhattacharyya were invited at the Meet on 28th February 2019 at Press Club Kolkata.  They have discussed about hearing loss, the importance of new born hearing screening, Ear care. Also disclosed the info on hearWHO app launched by World Health Organization (WHO)  this year to enable the user to check hearing and seek hearing care.

An annual planning workshop took place throughout the day at Anwesha Kolkata on 17th February 2019.

An outdoor life skill training programme was organized by Indian Mountaineering Foundation (East Zone), Pratidhwani WB and Anwesha Kolkata from 11 -16 February 2019 at Samsing, North Bengal. 30 deaf young adults participated in a cleanliness drive at Rocky Island Samsing, wherein they stepped out of the camp site as waste warriors. They not only cleaned the area but also collected the non-biodegradable waste littered on the banks of Murti river. The activity was covered in leading daily newspapers Times of India, Uttar Banga Sambadand Uttarer Saradin

An annual get together will be organized by Anwesha Kolkata on 12th January 2019 at Titli Garden, Baruipur- Gobindapur ( South 24 Parganas).
